Between us, Kari and Dave have many decades' experience hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing and even light mountain climbing. Kari has lead hundreds of outings including teaching beginners to snowshoe, backpack, etc. through the Meetup website and with the Mountaineers. Dave led outings and taught navigation, snowshoeing and scrambling with the Mountaineers. Both of us got interested in Fire lookouts before we met. For Kari, they were a family activity as her father loved them and acted to support them in a variety of ways; Dave was just looking for a way to discover cool outings to lead.
