If gate midway is open, it is mostly a drive up to a large turnaround area with a gate; then it is about .1 mile and 100 gain to the top. There are two sets of towers with lovely views. The one to the right as you come up is where the lookout stood. It must have been an awesome spot to be a lookout! If gate closed, it will be at least 2 miles up some steep road sections one way.
