There are several ways to go up Townsend. I put the stats from the most common way - Big Quilcene. We have also been up via Dirty Face Ridge and Little Quilcene as well as from the backdoor trail to Silver Lakes. Little Quilcene is the easiest approach at 3 miles and 2000 gain one way. Views are great from the site and summit ridge in general. It is quite popular in summer and early fall. Once the snow comes, there are less people.
