Destination Details for Lookout Mtn. Lookout (Skagit Co near Marblemount)

Northwest WA

It has been years since I have been up there and hope to go again sometime soon. I remember it being a challenge, and my mom had to give up before getting to the lookout. I made it as I was young and strong at the time. I often look over at it from Hidden Lake. I wish I could say I remember the view from there, but I don't. It has become more popular to go up there. I just hope it doesn't become like Winchester and Hidden Lake where people show up late at night expecting to stay and then make all kinds of noise disturbing those who are already sleeping. Sigh. Maybe it is just hard enough to prevent people coming up in the dark.

Lookout Structure Details for Lookout Mtn. Lookout (Skagit Co near Marblemount): Open to the Public

https://www.trailchick.com/washington-state-fire-lookouts-open-for-overnight-stays/ Check the link for more info. It is open, and I know people stay in it. It is a tough hike with overnight gear. Views are great. I haven't been up there for years so no idea what shape the lookout is in as Forest Service warns only two people per side on the catwalk. There is no water source once snow melts so you'll have to haul up water if you go later than mid July.
