Destination Details for North Twentymile Peak

North Central WA

When we did it, it was covered in blowdown making this a seriously challenging hike and slight navigational challenges to get around blowdown. I've heard it has since been logged out. This is a fun one as you get to see two types of towers. You could camp up there IF there is still snow for water. The only water source we saw was maybe 2-3 miles in before the major climbing. I read on WTA the access road is closed currently at Twenty Mile Creek ford. (Dec 2023)

Lookout Structure Details for North Twentymile Peak: Open to the Public
Christine Estrada/Michael Liu - cupola open; tower

The cupula is open, but it is storing items so might be difficult to sleep in it. The tower is locked. There is plenty of room around the two lookouts to camp, but be aware there is no water unless there is still snow. You'd have to haul up a thousand feet and a few miles from last water source on creek before turning away from it and on up the mountain.
