Access Road 1706 is great, but 1600 has really rough, rocky patches that are only manageable with high clearance. The CRV made it up to Little Bald by some miracle, but we were tense. We hiked over to Clover Springs from there - the first two miles are driveable by a CRV type vehicle but nothing less clearance could make any of 1600! Clover Springs final road after the campground is bad at first; then fine. We walked, but we can judge. No debris found as fire had ripped through there. Some nice views.
