We went to the tribal office to find the person to whom we could speak about visiting the lookouts on the tribe's land. I finally found the right person and in exchange for agreeing to do some mainenance, we were allowed to go visit with a group of tribal members in a van. This was before Covid. We were hoping to make it a yearly excursion - help for the tribe and allowing lookout chasers a way onto the reservation. However, all contact was lost during Covid, and I haven't been able to reestablish it. This one was livable for long periods of time. I remember it had full power and water - even a bathtub if I remember right! Great views. We helped open it for the season so the guys took down the heavy metal shutters, and we did some cleaning inside. The land is gorgeous, and I loved hearing the tribal members' stories. What an experience!!
