We followed route used by other lookout chasers. We had thought to backpack and stay up there because it was too much for a day, but there were signs warning against being up there overnight. We took bikes and rode as much as we could on the way up. Dave's tire burst at one point, but luckily, he had brought a spare. We were able to ride most of the way down. There was lovely bear grass and great views from halfway point and lookout, but mostly it was roads in trees. The pink color inside the lookout was pretty nauseating.
