1. First approach: The route attempted in the GPS track is likely not the best way to do this lookout site. The track was an exploration of the Mountain Home Ridge trail system that just happened to take us close to the lookout site. 2. Came in from Highway 97 via Mountain Home Ranch Road. This was the best way. The first attempt was two weeks ago, and we were stopped by impassable snow at the bottom. Now, it is easy to get through the patches, and lots of flowers are out. We chose to leave car at intersection and walk final four miles and 600 gain on that last bit of road. A jeep could make it. I don't think most regular cars can make it all the way. Spectacular views! Even saw a church across the valley and went cross country to it.
