We generally go up the Deadfall Trail so these stats are for the Deadfall approach. It is a much better workout for us than the less steep, less elevation usual trail which is maybe 4 miles roundtrip with 1300 gain. Deadfall is quite steep the first mile or so; then contours for awhile before heading steeply a mile or so to the final ridge. We usually stop and enjoy the sun and view about .5 mile from lookout site as the site itself doesn't have much of a view. The rocks before reaching it from Deadfall site are more interesting and are often in the sun.
