Mileage is roundtrip. Carne itself is relatively popular, but lookout site is not well known or oft visited. This is a wonderful Larch hike - did in fall and gorgeous. We went both to the usual summit and then back to saddle and out a trail toward Gibb I believe; then you go up a rib to get to it - no trail. There is debris there, great views, and total solitude. We had a late start after work and made it to the flat basin below Carne just as it became full on dark. We camped there for the night.
