You can go up the road to the lookout; then it's a half mile on a trail to the lookout structure. I have also walked the road in snow. There is a trail that continues over the ridge and connects with other trails. Rock hounds have left a lot of dirt piles, but it is a pretty ridge which used to have amazing views before tree grew in. I have been going there since I was very little.
