Destination Details for Granite Mtn. Lookout

Northwest WA

This trail can be dangerous at certain times of the year - check avalanche reports in late spring. It is hot in the summer. You could backpack as I keep thinking there is water maybe 2/3 mile before the lookout and somewhat flat, but I haven't tried it. This trail is crazy popular! The overflowing cars every time I go by on I-90 make me never want to go again. Weekdays are better but still busy. It has a great view! In late spring/early summer, you may need to do the boulder hop route to get to it. You could snowshoe, but again watch avalanche reports as you are going through an avalanche chute to get up there.
