Mileage is one way. The road out there is long and last little bit may not last as it was sloughing off into the river. The trail had not been maintained for years when we visited maybe in 2016. It was quite overgrown through the valley. It was lovely on the upper part and gorgeous from the site. We could see a forest fire in the distance. I'd suggest overnighting somewhere - could camp at top (no water) or maybe somewhere down by water. It's just such a long haul to get there.
