This is on gated roads. It goes down to damn; then out to site - it's 2.5 miles 1000 gain from dam, but road to dam is often gated adding at least half mile and some gain on the way back. Apparently, there are a lot of ruins in the woods near the site. We didn't find them the two times we've been there so need to go back. It is a pretty nice view as it was recently logged. We went once in the snow so had to park even further back. You could possibly backpack it. I didn't see signs saying no overnights, but it is on logging roads so maybe not that pleasant.
