Do not go up the road, it passes through private property and the no trespassing is enforced. The GPS track available here shows another way that avoids this issue. We camped at the "trailhead" for this one - a gate off dirt roads. Eventually, you must go cross country to reach this one. Our track will show the way we chose. It wasn't too bad that way. The lookout (person) was friendly even though it was in the middle of Covid when we visited.
